Somatic Breathwork

Somatic breathwork is a conscious, body-based breathing practice that uses rhythm, presence, and awareness to unlock stored stress, emotion, and trauma from the nervous system.

Unlike simple deep breathing, somatic breathwork works at the root—the level of your body’s cellular memory and your nervous system’s automatic responses.

Somatic Breathwork is a powerful body-based healing modality that uses conscious connected breathing to release stored stress, trauma, and emotional blockages from the nervous system. “Somatic” means “of the body”—this practice helps you reconnect with your body’s innate intelligence and safely express what’s been held inside.

  • While many breathwork styles focus on energy, activation, or altered states, somatic breathwork centers the body’s emotional and nervous system responses. It prioritizes safety, trauma-awareness, and integration, allowing you to feel and process emotions rather than bypass them. The goal is regulation, not stimulation.

  • Somatic Breathwork uses conscious, connected breathing techniques to gently bypass the thinking mind and access the body’s stored stress, emotions, and energetic blocks. Through rhythmic breath, sound, and movement, the nervous system discharges old patterns while creating space for clarity, safety, and soul remembrance. This practice restores connection to inner wisdom and allows the body to recalibrate into alignment with truth.

  • Each session typically includes:

Guided breath patterns to activate the nervous system.

Emotional expression such as movement, sound, or release.

Periods of integration for grounding and stillness.

    • Gentle music, affirmations, and guidance from your facilitator.

You may cry, laugh, shake, feel deep emotions, or enter meditative states. All responses are welcome.

  • • Regulates the nervous system

    • Clears emotional blocks and trauma imprints

    • Builds resilience and emotional capacity

    • Deepens self-awareness and body connection

    • Increases access to intuition and inner wisdom

    • Supports better sleep, digestion, and overall vitality

    • Encourages authentic expression and self-trust

  • Breathwork helps regulate the autonomic nervous system, balancing fight/flight responses and activating the parasympathetic state (rest and repair). It also stimulates the vagus nerve, lowers cortisol levels, and helps release somatically stored trauma, according to studies in trauma-informed therapy and neuroscience.

  • Absolutely. Somatic breathwork is one of the most effective modalities for working with the root causes of anxiety, trauma responses (like freeze or people-pleasing), and emotional exhaustion. It works not by “fixing” you—but by helping you remember and return to your wholeness.

  • Not at all. Somatic breathwork is for everyone—whether you’re new to inner work or a seasoned practitioner. The pace is guided by your body, not by pushing past limits.

  • Many people feel shifts after just one session, but deeper transformation often unfolds over a series. Breathwork works in layers, and each session meets you exactly where you are. Some integrate it as a regular part of nervous system hygiene and healing.

  • • A quiet, safe space where you can lie down

    • Headphones (for virtual sessions)

    • Tissues, water, and a journal for reflection

    • An open heart and a willingness to feel
